After a stormy session today, the Wuerttemberg-Baden Parliament, in the U.S. zone of Germany, requested American High Commissioner John J. McCloy to remove from Germany all DP’s except the Jews. Provincial Minister of Interior Fritz Ulrich declared that with the exception of the Jews “most of the so-called DP’s cooperated with the Nazis.”

Meanwhile, Jewish authorities are watching the new Bonn Government very carefully, particularly in the light of a suggestion in the West German Parliament recently that when the International Refugee Organization terminates in June, 1950, all DP’s “should be treated like Germans” in all respects, It is expected that Jewish officials will request the I.R.O. and Commissioner McCloy to prevent the forced movement of Jewish DP’s out of the American zone.
