A 12 percent increase in the reparation pensions paid to victims of Nazi persecution and their heirs was announced today by the state government of Wurttemberg-Baden. The increase is retroactive to August 1.
Appointment of a former officer of Hitler’s Elite Guard as youth leader and supervisor of the youth group in Flansburg, Schelswig-Holstein, was deferred “for the time being” as a result of protests to the town’s personnel board which had appointed him, it was learned here today.
Wilhelm Rettenmaier, one-time prisoner and supervisor in the Flossenburg concentration camp, has been sentenced to five years imprisonment following his conviction on charges of having mistreated and tortured fellow prisoners.
