German workmen are digging up graves of thousands of persons who were murdered by the Nazis at Dachau and the earth is being used for commercial purposes, presumably for pottery manufacture, the New York Times reported today from Munich.
On the site of the excavation, witnesses saw a sign bearing the Star of David which, according to a survivor of the death camp marked the area as the burial ground of about 2,000 victims of Hitlerism. A number of bones have been exposed in the operation, but the contractors who are in charge insist that the bones are those of medieval residents of the area, although they cannot explain the presence of fillings in the teeth of some of the jawbones dug up, the Times report stated.
