Germany’s Parliament approved an agreement that will triple government funding to the country’s Jewish community. Last Friday’s move endorsed the agreement reached in January between German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and German Jewish leader Paul Spiegel that gives the country’s Jewish community the same legal standing as the Roman Catholic and Lutheran churches.
