THE WORK, ENTITLED “POGROM,” SHOWS A FAMILY GROUP ATTACKED BY A BAND OF THE “BLACK HUNDREDS,” WHO RAIDED JEWISH COMMUNITIES IN THE EARLY YEARS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY. GINZBURG STARTED THE BAS-RELIEF AFTER THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION IN 1905, BUT WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE IT AT THAT TIME OWING TO CENSORSHIP.
