The Habimah Theater Troupe, visiting Britain to take part with other world-famous troupes in the World Theater Season, presented to a packed house last night Ansky’s The Dybbuk. Many theatergoers were unable to get tickets.
A number of distinguished personalities in the world of art and literature attended a reception given for the troupe after the performance. Among those present were Edward Short, the Government Chief Whip in the House of Commons, Nobel Laureate Prof. E. B. Chain and Dame Peggy Asheroft. Mr. Short said that the Government was delighted that the Israeli troupe had come. He expressed the hope that the visit would further cement Anglo-Israeli friendship.
