Hadassah praised the U.S. Senate for unanimously passing a bill that would outlaw discrimination based on genetic information. The Senate on Thursday passed the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act, which is identical to a bill that passed the Senate and had President Bush’s support in 2003 but failed in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill would protect citizens against discrimination in health insurance and employment based on genetic information.
