The first electric street car system will be installed in Haifa, it was learned here today.
The cars will run from Haifa to Mount Carmel, on the summit of which is the Jewish residential district, Hadar Ha’Carmel.
The concession to inaugurate this system was given by the city to Engineer Pinchas Ruttenberg, the originator of the Palestine electrification and irrigation plan.
