Fifty thousand spectators, including almost the entire diplomatic corps and the whole of the English colony, witnessed the football match between a elected team of the “West Ham United”, one of England’s leading football teams, who played here against the Jewish team of the Hakoah Sport Club. The game ended in a draw, each of the teams making a goal.

The match attracted city wide attention because it is the first time in ten years that English footballers came to Vienna.
