Havana Labor Parley Moves to Set Up Immigration Groups

The immigration committee of the Second Inter-American Labor Conference has approved a resolution recommending creation of an official organization in each of the countries interested in receiving immigrants to aid the orderly procedure of future immigration.

The resolution also called for organization of experts’ committees on selection and settlement of immigrants, a study of the basis on which an international body for financing the settlements, organization of a technical section on the settlers and the adoption of measures of a social character to facilitate adaptation of immigrants to the special conditions in the region of immigration.
