Hebrew Instructor Burned to Death While Sleeping

Kalman Liebskind, for many years secretary of the local Hungarian congregation and a Hebrew teacher, was fatally burned last night when his bed caught fire as he slept in the B’nai Israel Home for the Aged. He was said to have fallen asleep while smoking.

Liebskind, who was sixty-three years old, tutored children of prominent Jewish families here. He was born in Hungary and came to Passaic in 1901. He is survived by a son and two daughters.
