Hebrew Teachers Call off Strike in Palestine

A last-minute agreement between the Hebrew Teachers Union and the Vaad Leumi, Jewish national council in Palestine, averted a strike which was to have been called today. The teachers had demanded increased wages which the Vaad Leumi contended it was not in a position to grant. The Vaad Leumi operates most of the Jewish schools in Palestine.
