The American Jewish Archives of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion has collected one of the world’s largest libraries on American Jewish history since it was established in 1947, it was announced here yesterday.
Some 200,000 documents and source materials have been classified and filed under the supervision of Dr. Jacob R. Marcus, Prof. of Jewish History at the College and director of the Archives. The announcement revealed that the Archives have been used by and are available to general historians, Jewish historians, American and European scholars, as well as to the various media of communications.
