The Herzliah Hebrew Teachers Institute will seek an arrangement with a local college or university to be able to confer joint degrees on the graduates of the institution. This was announced here by Rabbi Aharon Horowitz, dean of Herzliah, at the school’s annual dinner in honor of Jacob Goodman, preminent philanthropist and Jewish communal leader in celebration of his 70th birthday.
Mr. Goodman, who was presented with a scroll of honor by Jules L. Freed, president of the Jewish Education Committee of New York, was cited for his “great deads for the Zionist movement, for Hebrew education and culture and for the maintenance and development of Herzliah Hebrew Teachers Institute.” The dinner was also addressed by Rabbi Arthur Hertzberg and by Abraham Goodman, brother of the guest of honor.
