Yosef Almogi, chairman of the Jewish Agency and World Zionist Organization Executives, returned from a visit to Rumania this week and said he had high hopes that some 50,000 Rumanian Jews would be allowed to be reunited with their families in Israel.

Almogi said that Jews were treated well in Rumania, but almost every Jew had a relative in Israel and the majority of Rumanian Jews wanted to make aliya. However, he noted that the number of exit permits is not as high as Jews would like.
