Two teen-aged hoodlums who chased two girls into Temple Beth Am, in Washington Heights, during Sabbath services, and attacked worshippers, will be arraigned for hearing in Felony Court Sept. 11 on charges of felonious assault. They were held in $500 bail.
The youths, described as “partly intoxicated,” molested the girls outside the synagogue. When the girls fled into the edifice for refuge, they pursued them. An usher who intervened to maintain order, was slashed with a garrison belt. The two rowdies threw chairs and flowerpots, striking four worshippers, and shouted anti-Semitic epithets. Two radio cars responded to the alarm.
