Rep. Adam Clayton Powell, New York Democrat, has introduced a bill to provide for the establishment of a government Fair Employment Practices Commission to prohibit discrimination in employment.

Other F.E.P.C. bills, similar to the Powell bill, have been introduced in the House by Democrats Willian L. Dawson of Illinois and Helon Gahagan Douglas of California, and Everett Dirkeen, Republican, of Illinois. There have been no F.E.P.C. bills introduced in the Senate to date.
