Sunday’s rally, under the banner “Sharon Is Selling Out Gush Katif to the Americans,” came amid right-wing pressure on the Israeli prime minister to back off his plan for unilateral Israeli disengagement from the Palestinians. Gush Katif is one of the main Jewish settlement blocs in Gaza.
