Inter-party Negotiations for Municipal Administrations in Israel Going on in Jerusalem

With the opening of the Knesset, the inter-party negotiations for coalition mayors in the various cities and large town have been transferred here.

The latest report on Mapai-Mapam unity in cities where the two labor parties can form a majority administration is that such a united front — reported imminent some days ago — is not likely to develop. In Jerusalem the Mapai is reported to be favoring the candidacy of S.Z. Shragai, Mizrachi laborite, as Mayor.
