Iran accused the West of using its president’s comments about the destruction of Israel in order to intensify pressure on Iran over its nuclear program. The weekend comments by Iranian officials came after the U.N. Security Council criticized Iran after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadenijad said last week that “Israel should be wiped off the map.”
