Iranian President Mohammed Khatami told an Israeli reporter that his country wants Middle East peace. Asked by reporter Menachem Ganz, of Israel’s daily Ma’ariv, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday whether Iran ever could end its traditional hostility to the Jewish state, Khatami said, “We have a moral problem with Israel because of the occupation.”
