The Palestinian Authority pledged to prevent cash from being smuggled in through a key Gaza Strip border terminal. Gen. Pietro Pistolese, chief of European Union monitors at the Rafah terminal, said Thursday that he had received assurances from the Palestinian Authority that anyone caught trying to carry cash into Gaza will be forced to leave it on the other side of the border, in Egypt.
