Iraq called on Arab states to use oil as a weapon to punish countries supporting Israel. Oil should be used “in the battle with the enemy,” Iraq’s ruling Ba’ath Party said in a statement Monday. The statement was issued after a meeting of the party chaired by President Saddam Hussein.
