The Jews of Galatz were attacked today by members of the anti-Semitic Iron Guard protesting against the production by a Jewish theatre company of a play called “All Quiet on the Marasesti Front.”

Several Jews and members of the Iron Guard were injured in the fray. When police arrived on the scene, the Iron Guardists seized the police revolvers and fired into the air. Several arrests were made.

The Iron Guardists charged the Jews with profaning Roumanian heroism in the play. Marasesti is the famous Roumanian battlefield.
