Sir Winston Chur chill was eulogized in glowing terms here today by Ambassador Michael S. Comay, Israel’s permanent representative, who participated in a session of the General Assembly devoted to addresses honoring the memory of the late statesman.

Mr. Comay pointed out that Winston Churchill had declared himself openly as far back as 1908 as favoring “the historical aspirations of the Jews, ” declaring then that “the restoration to them (the Jews) of a center of political integrity would be a tremendous event in the history of the world.” The Israeli noted that Churchill was an ardent supporter of the Balfour Declaration and the League of Nations Mandate “which gave international sanction to the Jewish national home in Palestine.”
