Israel asked the United States for a role in rebuilding Iraq. Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom raised the issue Monday in a meeting with U.S. officials. He suggested that Israeli companies could offer know-how in rebuilding infrastructure without having to actually be present in Iraq, Israel Radio reported.
