The Israeli consumer price index jumped another six points during July to reach a new peak of 264 points, it was established today. Israeli economic experts expressed fears of a new jump in living cost allowances in forthcoming wage negotiations. The index is based on the price level of September, 1951, as one hundred.
Wage agreements are due for routine talks on cost of living allowances in November, it was pointed out. If the current rate increase continues, the experts said, a “great jump” in such allowances would be certain.
