Israel dismantled a section of the West Bank security barrier. The Defense Ministry said the 5-mile stretch of fence torn down near Baka al-Sharqiya on Sunday was slated for removal months ago; it is not linked to the upcoming hearings on the fence at the International Court of Justice. But Justice Minister Yosef “Tommy” Lapid told Israeli television that the move would generate “very positive media spin” ahead of the hearings at The Hague.
