Israel may restart peace talks with the new Palestinian Authority government, but only after it fights terrorism. Speaking Wednesday to the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, Israel’s defense minister, Shaul Mofaz, said if the Palestinians dismantle terrorist groups, he would support an interim agreement “that will rebuild trust for both sides, gives proper security for the State of Israel and gives hope for Palestinian people in the future.”
