Israel opposes the idea that the Palestinians will release one of the jailed assassins of a former tourism minister, Rehavam Ze’evi. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told Reuters on Tuesday that once Israeli troops withdraw from Jericho under a cease-fire deal, he will released Ahmed Sa’adat, who is imprisoned in the West Bank city along with three accomplices in the 2001 murder.
