Israel became one of the first countries to ratify the Montreal convention against aerial hijacking. The Cabinet approved the convention at its regular weekly meeting here yesterday. It was drafted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)meeting in Montreal in Sept, 1970. So far 61 nations have subscribed to the convention. It will become valid under international law as soon as It is ratified by 10 nations. An amendment to the aviation laws enacted by the Knesset last year covers all the provisions contained in the convention.
