Seven Syrian seamen who had abandoned their severely damaged sailing vessel and taken to a lifeboat were rescued today by an Israeli tug which put out of Haifa in response to their SOS.

When the Israeli vessel came on the scene it found the men in their small boat and picked them up. Then it proceeded to take the listing sailboat “Adala” in tow and bring it back into the port of Haifa.
