Israel today was one of the first three members of the United Nations to sign a new international agreement designed at reduction of the number of cases in which persons become stateless as a result of conflicting nationality laws.
At ceremonies here concluding a three-week conference which adopted the agreement, the new international treaty was signed on behalf of Israel by Meir S. Divan, director-general of Israel’s Ministry of the Interior. The two other first signers were Britain and Holland.
