Plans for publication of an edition of the Koran, the sacred book of Islam, in Israel have been completed by the Israel Ministry for Religious Affairs, it was disclosed today.

The plan for such a publication effort, the first publication of the Koran in Israel, was initiated after officials of Israel’s Moslem community of 175, 000 complained about the quality of the Koreans imported from Turkey, They contended that the Turkish editions were poorly printed and had many errors.

The plan calls for publication of the Koran by the Supreme Moslem Committee of Israel with the assistance of Moslem religious courts.
