Israel will coordinate with the United States before it takes any unilateral steps vis-a-vis the Palestinians. “We will do whatever we can to preserve good relations,” Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom told reporters Monday after meeting with Vice President Dick Cheney and Condoleezza Rice, President Bush’s national security adviser. Shalom said Rice, Cheney and Secretary of State Colin Powell — with whom he met Friday — made their opposition to unilateral steps clear.
