Israeli Arabs began a strike to protest what they called Israel’s failure to improve their living conditions. Israeli Arab lawmakers said strikers are protesting the government’s failure to implement a $9.5 billion, four-year plan to develop the Arab sector. A spokesman for the Finance Ministry said the government is committed to the plan, but that it is being delayed until at least next year while officials arrange funding.
