Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz said the military operation in Lebanon will continue beyond this week. But speaking Sunday to members of a delegation from the European Jewish Congress, which is part of the World Jewish Congress, Peretz did not specify a timetable for when the operation would end, Peretz said. Israel will no longer tolerate the Hezbollah flag flying along Israel’s northern border and will demand international monitoring of the Syria-Lebanon border to prevent the flow of arms from Iran to Hezbollah.
