Israeli Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu kicked off talks with union leaders to end a spate of labor strikes. In the two-day talks, Netanyahu and Amir Peretz, who heads the Histadrut, Israel’s powerful umbrella labor organization, are trying to end ongoing strikes in social security, unemployment and licensing offices.
