Israeli Ambassador Meir Rosenne was in Seattle, Washington, yesterday to offer his condolences to the family of Sen. Henry Jackson (D. Wash.) who died last Thursday. The Ambassador visited the chapel where Jackson’s body is on view. Rosenne went to Seattle yesterday because he would be unable to attend the funeral there tomorrow since it is the eve of Rosh Hashanah.
The Israel Embassy also reported that messages of condolence were sent to Mrs. Helen Jackson, the Senator’s widow, by Israeli President Chaim Herzog, Premier Menachem Begin, Foreign Minister Yitzhak Shamir and Defense Minister Moshe Arens.
