Israeli military restrictions are prohibiting tens of thousands of Palestinian children from attending school, a UNICEF official charged Wednesday. According to UNICEF’s special representative in the region, 170,000 children and 6,650 teachers are unable to reach their classrooms, and 580 schools have been closed. Israel imposed the restrictions in an attempt to stop Palestinian terrorist attacks.
