Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon rejected calls from settlers to abandon the cease-fire and respond to Monday’s shooting death of an Israeli motorist. “To take the people now to war, in my view, is a mistake of the first order from every perspective,” Sharon said after meeting members of his Likud Party.
