Israeli security officials linked Tuesday’s rocket attack in southern Lebanon that killed an Israeli soldier to the lack of progress in Israeli-Syrian peace negotiations. A day after the attack, Syria accused Israel of escalating fighting in the region. Staff Sgt. Zangwill, 24, of Jerusalem, was killed during a heavy day of fighting in the region.
