Israeli troops enforced a tight blockade of Palestinian cities and towns in the West Bank. At one Israeli checkpoint between Jerusalem and the West Bank town of Ramallah, soldiers fired tear gas and rubber bullets on Monday to keep back about 150 Palestinians trying to get through the checkpoint. There were no reported injuries.
