Israelis, Palestinians and Italians ran a “Peace Marathon” in memory of Pope John Paul II. Thursday’s race began in Bethlehem and ended in Jerusalem’s Old City, the route taken by many Christian pilgrims to Israel. Vatican officials were there because the race, now in its second year, was dedicated to the late pontiff.
