Israel’s Cabinet is expected to approve a new governor of the Bank of Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak last Friday nominated David Klein, the current deputy governor, despite opposition from his finance minister. Klein is expected to continue the strict monetary policies of outgoing governor Jacob Frenkel.
