Israel’s chief rabbis came out against a plan to destroy synagogues in former Gaza Strip settlements. The Chief Rabbinate issued a statement Thursday urging the government to abandon its plan to blow up the synagogues in Gaza settlements evacuated this month, and instead to pressure the Palestinian Authority to agree to safeguard them.
