Israel’s education minister backed a plan to teach spoken Arabic and Arab culture in all Israeli schools. Limor Livnat said she supported the proposal by Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav to make the programs part of the compulsory curriculum. Yahav argued that there is a “vital need for the majority to understand the minority.”
