Israel’s entry to next year’s Academy Awards is a drama about a kibbutz. “Sweet Mud,” which portrays a single mother with emotional problems trying to survive in a kibbutz during the 1970s, was selected Thursday as the Israeli candidate for the Oscar in the best foreign picture category.
