Israel’s foreign ministry is hosting some prickly guests. Porcupines have moved into the ministry’s compound in Jerusalem. While some ministry employees don’t appreciate after-dark encounters with the creatures, a memorandum circulated by the Nature Reserves Authority assured workers that the animals are timid and, contrary to popular myth, do not shoot their spines.
