“The industrial capacity of Israel, which played a noteworthy part in the Allied supply effort in the Middle East during World War II, has increased considerably as a result of the development of the last three years,” Avraham Harman, Counsellor of the Israel Embassy, declared here tonight at an Israel bond drive dinner at the Savoy Plaza Hotel.
“Israel now is in a position to manufacture and repair a wide varity of articles which formerly had to be imported, ” the Israel diplomat said. “Current investments being made as a result of Israel Bond sales undoubtedly will lead to a growth of industrial capacity in all spheres, he pointed out. He predicted that Israel’s export of manufactured goods will continue to increase from year to year.
